Outdoor seating and dogs?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept dogs other than assistance dogs within the inside area of the Café.
Our outdoor area is now open and we allow you to bring dogs to sit in this area. please use the rule of one dog per person and please keep on them lead at all times during your visit, remember not everyone is confident with dogs.
Please clean up after your dog in the large blue litter bin provided, if you need water please ask, just one little thing we are a food establishment if there are wees that need washing away just ask, and please do not wee in the planters, this includes your dogs.

Please ensure that you look after your personal belongings we have removed all coat racks.

Are you open for a dine in service?

We are open as normal for dine in and takeaway

Will I have to book a table?

If you want to book the best way is to call us to find the best availability please call us on 01922408900. Alternatively you can email us hello@1911cafe.co.uk but please be aware we can take up to 24 hours to reply this way.

When are you open?

Monday to Friday 9-3 Saturday 9 till 2pm Please note our main food service finishes approximately 30 mins before closing and we will inform you of this before you place your order. We can however still serve cakes and drinks at this time.

There are times of the year and weather conditions where we may for the safety of our customers and staff close earlier than expected, in this event we will announce this on our social media channels.

Occasionally we may be hosting an event or having some maintenance work being carried out that laps over our closing time, again if we require to close early or open later this will be broadcast as soon as we know via social media.

In the event of utilities interruption we will for health and safety reasons close without notice. Unfortunately we cannot operate without electricity and water.

I want to order take away?

We will only accept takeaway orders either over the phone or walk in. If you walk in there may be a wait especially at busy times (lunchtimes) so call us and order first. All you need to do is choose from our menu which is available here and on our Facebook page.
Call us on 01922408900 or 07958788911, place your order, pay over the phone is available, and then we will give you a time to collect. Then you collect and take it away to enjoy.
Note : we do not take orders on text message, email or social media. We only accept orders via the telephone or in person.

Can I pay by card?

We prefer card payments, we take all major credit and debit cards, we also are able to take Apple and google pay NFC payments on mobile and watch devices. All contactless payments are up to £100 subject to your bank or card provider rules. We also offer payment over the phone, we will never contact you asking for payment in this method, please call us if you wish to pay via telephone.
We also take cash payments, in pounds sterling only, we may refuse bank notes over £20 for security reasons. Unfortunately We are unable to accept cheques, and do not offer cash back facilities.

Are you doing afternoon tea?

Our afternoon tea menus are now available to dine in or take away, please see our afternoon tea and buffet page or For more information please call us 01922408900 or 07959788911. Afternoon tea bookings require at least 24 hours notice please note that afternoon tea is held in a room which may include other customers.
We do not have a separate room specifically for afternoon tea, however we can close the large room for parties of 25 or more. The previous business located here had a Separate room This room closed in 2019 prior to us opening and is not part of the 1911 Cafe business. We will only offer afternoon tea during our normal opening hours Monday to Friday 9-3 Saturday 9-2pm with the latest booking for afternoon tea to commence at 1pm.

Do you have parking?

Parking is all around our site with ample parking. The location for us is the Essington Community Centre there is parking which is free for all customers to The Essington Community centre. From September 2024 this parking will still remain free however you will need to enter your registration number and you will obtain 2 hours parking free. There I a time restriction of 2 hours maximum. Fines of up to £100 can apply if you fail to use or overstay your time. A tablet is available in the cafe to do this please speak to staff to use this. Please note this service is operated by a third party company on behalf of Essington Parish Council. The 1911 Cafe have no involvement with this parking service. Signs will be around the site look the image below this and have details of the parking service and the requirements.
Please note some spaces are reserved for other facilities, and there is a staff car park, these should not be parked in Monday to Friday. The staff car park is a locked facility.


Are you open in the evening?

We intend to do some evenings in the future.... watch this space for further details

Can we hire your room?

you can for events such as birthdays, baby showers etc that includes our services. Please note out of normal operating hours this may include a staff charge, this will be discussed on a booking by booking basis. we do not just hire the room, if you are looking to hire a room within the community centre we are based please contact Essington Parish Council on 01922711608

Are you recruiting?

Unfortunately not at this current stage, we may in the future, and this will be advertised on our website and social media channels if so.

Do you sell Gift Vouchers?

We sell gift vouchers in £10 increments, you can buy these online at our voucher site Buy a gift card alternatively pop in and see us to buy one.

Can I book a future event such as afternoon tea party such as a baby shower or engagement party, hen do etc?

we will review these on a booking enquiry based on how many people and when required. Please have this information to hand when contacting us. We will only offer afternoon tea during our normal opening hours Monday to Friday 9-3 Saturday 9 - 2pm with the latest booking for afternoon tea parties to commence at 1pm. Please be aware the group bookings are held in a room which may include other customers subject to your party size. We do not have a separate room specifically for afternoon tea. Something wasn’t right and I want to complain?

Like many businesses we pride ourselves in our service and food quality, if something you receive from The 1911 Café is not up to standard or is not right, we would appreciate that you contact myself direct on your visit just ask or if after your visit you was not satisfied by calling 01922408900 or 07958788911 at anytime to discuss your concern, and I would only be too happy to resolve the issue immediately.

If you write a complaint on a review site then this will be responded to by asking you to come and discuss this with me in person or over the telephone, where we can resolve the matter. Many businesses suffer over fake reviews from competition and abuse from review sites. I will not tolerate this level of review and I am 100% behind the service and quality we offer. Please think before writing a review. Not just for ourselves but all businesses and services you use
